This
is the definitive work on the history
of Chickamauga Georgia, from the earliest
days of human occupation of the area,
through the Cherokee nation and their
removal, the War Between the States
and the two-day battle fought in this
area, rebuilding after the war, and
changes right to the present day.
More than anything else, the Battle
of Chickamauga in September 1863 shaped
the future history of the region.
This book looks at the battle and the
rebuilding from the standpoint of the
local civilian population. The
